The mainland's industrial sector has shown an improvement in product marketability, with 96.66 per cent of its production sold in August, despite rising output volume, the State Statistical Bureau says. The figure is 0.32 percentage points higher than in July and 0.2 percentage points more than for the same period last year. The Shanghai Securities News said the trend indicated state enterprises had paid more attention to market needs. The state sector has been plagued by problems of state planning, resulting in some production being unmarketable.
