Costly mistake of worshipping cash
Hong Kong people are getting richer all the time, which is a good thing, but look at the price they are paying.
I think many will agree that relationships between people in the past were much closer than they are now.
Back then, people used to help their neighbours take care of their children when they were busy. They also would talk and have fun together.
In the morning, they would greet each other. The relationship between neighbours was very close.
But these days, many people do not even know their neighbours and hence they seldom greet them, even if they do know them by sight.
The reason for this alienation is that people are too busy working to care about the quality of their relationships.
Adults work all day to make money and do not have time for others, while youths are absorbed with computer games and electronic pets.
Imagine a society that relates to making money and to electronic gadgetry more than it relates to people? It is such a pity that making money has become the aim of most people. Money cannot buy happiness, nor can it buy a good relationship.
If you are not a materialistic, grasping type of person, the chances are you will probably have a happier life.
