Appreciate kindness

My children and I would like to express our deepest gratitude to the people of Hong Kong who have so very generously contributed to the fund set up for my late husband Tom Larmour.

In particular, we would like to thank David Chu who initiated the fund with his most generous donation of HK$100,000.

We have never met many of the people who gave to the fund, but we would like them to know how very much we appreciate their kindness and support.

Some of the money will be used to establish the Tom Larmour Memorial Trust which is being set up to benefit sail training and development in the local community.

This will ensure that Tom's name lives on in Hong Kong in association with his keen interest in sailing.

It will be with great sadness that my children and I will leave Hong Kong early next year.

However, our departure will be made easier by the knowledge that Tom will not be forgotten here and by the overwhelming number of messages of sympathy and support which we have received from so many people.

We will always treasure our time in Hong Kong.
