Sony will give the first Asian demonstration of its new multi-channel digital transmission system at next week's Asia Broadcast '97 trade show.

The Japanese electronics giant claims the system is the first end-to-end broadcast system from a single manufacturer which features a full integration of hard disk servers, playback, master switcher control and MPEG2.

The trade show, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from next Tuesday until November 7, is expected to attract 6,000 delegates and 100 companies from 18 countries.

It is being held at the same time as Asia CommuniTech '97, which will address the needs of the growing telecommunications and IT industries.
