GREMLINS won the top-of-the-table clash with Kowloon Cricket Club 2-1 at King's Park yesterday to secure their first Hongkong women's hockey league championship for 10 years.

Gremlins, an independent side not attached to any of the major sports clubs, led 1-0 at half-time with a goal from Jean Erskin.

Billie Piper added a second after the break to put Gremlins in control before Vangie Bailey pulled one back for the Cox's Road club. Hongkong Football Club had won the title for the past five years.
