Hapag-Lloyd to buy cruise ship
German travel and shipping group Hapag-Lloyd says it intends to order a new cruise vessel to replace its existing flagship Europa which has been sold to Star Cruises.
Hapag-Lloyd said the 'Cruise Ship 2000', as it has dubbed the project, would be in the luxury class and have 420 berths.
The 600-passenger Europa was sold to Malaysia's Star Cruises in September for US$75 million.
Hapag-Lloyd operates four cruise vessels.
