'Des res' apartments at $47m

Six of the most expensive apartments in Australia and built by a Hong Kong developer, the East Asia Property Group, are slated to sell for as much as A$9 million (HK$47.7 million), according to sales agents Jones Lang Wootton (JLW).

The super luxury apartments range in size from just over 2,300 square feet to more than 8,000 square feet and include five bedrooms and six bathrooms.

They are located in the upmarket Elizabeth Bay area of Sydney. In the last few days, an unidentified buyer paid A$6,315.60 (HK$33,473) per square foot for a 2,300 sq ft, three-bedroom apartment or A$3.6 million.

The six-unit complex is at 28 Billyard Avenue, near media mogul Rupert Murdoch's Sydney home.

JLW officials in Hong Kong said the apartments were designed to provide five-star hotel luxury complete with computer-controlled 24-hour security and concierge. It also has a private marina.
