Residents living around Kwai Chung Playground, in Hing Fong Road, had to endure the unbearable noise caused by a concert rehearsal late on the night of November 29.
At 11.30pm, artistes were rehearsing for an anti-drug carnival and they were so loud that we could not sleep.
I complained to Kwai Chung Police Station and was told by an officer that they had received a similar complaint at 11.14pm. The noise stopped at midnight.
It is ridiculous that the Government should give special treatment to Happy Valley residents, reducing sound at the Hong Kong Stadium, but allowed this noisy rehearsal in the Kwai Chung area.
I would like to know the policy of the relevant government departments when it comes to allowing such activities at outdoor venues. Why couldn't the rehearsal have taken place at Tsuen Wan City Hall, Hong Kong Stadium or the Hong Kong Cultural Centre? NAME AND ADDRESS SUPPLIED
