Incorrect

I refer to Melville Noronha's letter headlined, 'Legal parking spaces now in short supply' (South China Morning Post, November 27).

I wish to draw to Mr Noronha's attention that there have been no proper parking spaces designated in the area where repair works are being carried out.

As such, it is incorrect to assert that some legal parking spaces have been taken up owing to the repaired works.

We understand that a new public car park, adjacent to Pak Wai Village, has been built recently to provide proper parking spaces in the area, but there is the problem of prolonged parking.

To solve the problem, we have proposed to meterise the car park and await the endorsement of the government departments concerned.
