World-Wide orders tankers

World-Wide Shipping has signed contracts with Japanese shipbuilders in Tokyo to build a very large crude carrier (VLCC) and a Panamax bulk carrier at two separate shipyards.


The double-hulled 300,000 deadweight tonne (dwt) VLCC is to be built in Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co for delivery in March 2000 and the 74,000 dwt bulk carrier is to be constructed in Sasebo Heavy Industries Co for delivery in February 1999.
