EXECUTIVE Councillors Mr Raymond Ch'ien Kuo-fung, Mr Andrew Li Kwok-nang and Mr Tung Chee-hwa have denied they have any intention of resigning.

A Chinese newspaper yesterday reported that Mr Li, Mr Ch'ien and Mr Tung were considering quitting as they were angry that Mr Patten had bypassed Exco and decided to gazette the electoral bill on Friday.

But a statement issued on behalf of Mr Ch'ien and Mr Li said: ''The report is completely untrue. We have no intention of resigning from the Executive Council.'' A separate statement from Mr Tung dismissed the rumours as ''groundless''.
