Colourful statement
CONGRATULATIONS to the government department overseeing the slope stabilisation work on the north face of Mount Victoria.
Department officials must have found it boring to look up at The Peak and see the outcrops of rock blending naturally with the luxuriant vegetation.
It was time to make a statement.
Great idea to paint a few rock faces white. After all if some shade of brown or green were used the work might blend in somewhat and go unnoticed; and just in case the colour does not catch your eye the boys must have arranged to have it splashed on and drip down on to some of the rocks below; nice touch.
Can we look forward to this new modern art continuing with the remainder of the slope stabilisation work on the north face? CHRIS INGRAM Mid-Levels
