BT Shipping has appointed Terje Askvig managing director of its British subsidiary BT Shipping (London).

 Mr Askvig has the support of Norwegian shipping group Loki, which holds a 49.6 per cent stake in BT Shipping.

 BT Shipping has been led by chairman Eddie Pollock since its flotation on Nasdaq in 1989.

 It operates a fleet of six 69,900 dwt product tankers and a single 80,000 dwt tanker.
