Cold snap on its way
Elderly people have been warned to dress warmly as the first cold front of the year arrives tomorrow.
The Observatory predicted yesterday that the temperature would drop from 25 degrees Celsius to about 15 degrees early next week.
'Those who stay out late should beware that it will be noticeably cooler overnight,' said a duty forecaster.
'A strong to gale-force northeast monsoon will generally affect the coastal region and its adjacent waters after the passage of the cold front,' he said.
Blankets will be distributed to street sleepers and other needy people when the temperature falls to about 12 degrees, a Social Welfare Department spokesman said.
