Be sparing with punishment
SOME parents are very strict and some are too lenient.
Parents who are too strict, will see punishment as a natural course. They think that by being tough disciplinarians they will help the child to achieve goals in life and grow up into a well-behaved adult. Too much punishment can harm a child. In extreme cases it can provoke a rebellious reaction. As a consequence, some young people become delinquents, while others, because of a lack of love and care, commit suicide.
Parents should use punishment only when absolutely necessary. They should not use it to vent their anger and frustration.
