Quick thinking saves driver

Felix Chan

A lorry driver had his quick reactions to thank when he escaped unhurt from a freak accident in Kwai Chung yesterday.

Another lorry hit his vehicle after it had fallen from a car park above the entrance to the Tsing Yi North Bridge.

'I saw a white thing coming down and the next thing I knew was a loud bang on my left as I quickly steered to the right,' said driver Ho Tin-mo.

The cab of the falling lorry bounced into Mr Ho's vehicle, smashing its windscreen and side window.

Emergency services freed Mr Yeung, 23, the driver of the fallen lorry, from the wreckage.

He was taken to Princess Margaret Hospital, where his condition was stable.
