Officials from the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) yesterday met executives of the second batch of 18 B-share candidates, to help them prepare for their flotations on mainland exchanges.

Companies invited to the two-day conference in Yangzhou, Jiangsu, included Sanmao Railway, Harbin Aircraft Plant, Inner Mongolia Deer King Cashmere Products and Liuzhou Wuling Automobile.

Topics for discussion could cover listing procedures in Shanghai and Shenzhen and regulatory rules to be followed by the companies after listing, sources said.

It has become normal practice for the CSRC to meet listing candidates for B shares in the mainland or H shares in Hong Kong, to help them prepare for the demands of fund-raising.

The list of the second batch of B-share companies has been circulating since last August, but the CSRC has not made it official.

The CSRC, after gaining power to select and vet B-share candidates from Shenzhen and Shanghai securities bodies, picked the first batch of 33 companies to sell and list B shares early last year.
