German freight firms merged

Anglo-Dutch container shipping group P&O Nedlloyd has merged the freight-forwarding and logistics activities of two German subsidiaries.
Seven P&O Nedlloyd Global Logistics offices, responsible for air and sea cargo and hanging-garments business, have been integrated into sister firm Damco Maritime from January 1, the company said.
Damco, with 120 offices and 1,000 employees worldwide, also has taken over the P&O Nedlloyd Global Logistics intercontinental offices in Hamburg.
