THE Hongkong Air Cadet Corps (HKACC) is entering its 22nd year, since it was set up on 7 April, 1971. The HKACC is a registered non-profit making voluntary organisation and subvented by the Social Welfare Department.

It is an aviation-oriented, disciplined, youth organisation that aims to provide initial aviation education, development of leadership and social awareness in community service.

The HKACC will hold its 10th Officer Cadet Training Course, starting in May. Candidates are required to attend a six-month training in basic knowledge of the HKACC, such as aviation subjects, customs and courtesies, discipline and foot-drill.

There will also be flying experience, leadership exercise and field training.

Interviews will be conducted in mid-April. Selected applicants are not required to pay any fee except for their own uniforms. All training will be held after office hours. Candidates will be appointed as officers after successfully passing the examination.

The requirements are: Age 21 years or above Matriculation or above Good command of English Willingness to serve the community Anyone who fulfills the above requirements are welcome to join the HKACC by sending a letter in English, with resume and a recent photo, before April 8, to: Development Department, HK Air Cadet Corps, H. K. International Airport, Sung Wong Toi Road, Kowloon.
