Swedish tanker group ICB Shipping says it has exercised its option through a subsidiary to buy the VLCC (very large crude carrier) Flores.
The vessel has been operated and marketed by ICB since March 1995 when it was delivered to the Swedish group. The 284,410 dwt single-hull VLCC came from South Korea's Daewoo shipyard and was owned by an unnamed third party.
After the purchase, the ICB group will own five VLCCs with an option to buy a further one.
