Helping hand

Many of you will have read about the terrible conditions facing children in Cambodia in the article in Friday Focus (South China Morning Post, February 6).

I would like to inform readers that there is at least one organisation providing help under the difficult circumstances, helping homeless and disabled children all over Cambodia. Krousar Thmey (meaning a new family) is a French-based charity which has set up homes for street children and schools for blind and deaf children in the major towns.

I have visited some of the homes and was very impressed and moved by the great work carried out by this organisation.

If anyone is interested to find out more (or would like to make a charitable donation) they can contact - Krousar Thmey, C/o B. Duchateau, 4 Rui 261, Tuk Laak 1, Toul Kauk, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
