February was wetter and warmer than normal but sunny hours were few and far between. The month brought many thunderstorms and hailstorms on the 16th, 17th and 22nd, the Observatory said.

The rainfall of 153.7 millimetres was about three times the normal figure. Although the average daily temperature of 15.2 degrees Celsius was 1.3 degrees higher than normal, the duration of sunshine was 41.3 hours less than usual.
