One autotoll for all tunnels

Drivers would be able to use one autotoll system for all tunnels by next year, it emerged yesterday.

The companies operating the Autopass and the Electronic Toll Systems had agreed to merge the two, according to a Transport Bureau paper to the transport panel.

It would take nine months to replace all ETS systems by Autopass.

The bureau said that the new joint venture company would not raise charges for a period of at least six months following the conversion.
