Qian pledge on tourism

Vice-premier Qian Qichen pledged to help increase the numbers of mainlanders visiting Hong Kong. He said preparations were under way, but did not give details.

The news was a boost for tourism chiefs who are visiting Beijing in an effort to help the flagging industry.
