Market must be cleaned up

I am a frequent customer at the Yeung Uk Road Market, and feel there is plenty of room for improvement.

The aisles in the market are too narrow for people, because hawkers put their goods both on their stalls and on the aisles, thus blocking access. Surely, this is against regulations.

The situation is even worse in the poultry section. Many crates lie in the middle of the aisles.

The market is not clean. I see rubbish everywhere, in particular in the aisles and stairs near the fruit and vegetable section. I would like to know for how long this refuse is left before being cleared up.

We must prevent further outbreaks of bird flu and cholera, or we will drive more tourists away from Hong Kong.

The Regional Services Department is responsible for this market, but it is clearly not doing a good job.

The Government should look into this matter. The residents of Hong Kong should be able to live in a clean environment.
