There are some good Mother's Day specials available if you are planning to fly to London, and though the big day is next Sunday, the tickets are valid until the end of May. British Airways' Mother's Day promotion offers a return economy class ticket for $5,555 and a further ticket for a lady companion at $4,170. An extra $555 will give a choice of a further flight to either Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Munich, Frankfurt, Zurich, Nice or Bordeaux.

Virgin Atlantic's Mother's Day deal offers a return ticket to London at $5,500 with a lady's ticket at $4,200.

Ironically, Britain doesn't celebrate Mother's Day on Sunday, May 10. It was held last March in the UK. This weekend's event is the big day mainly for the US and Australia. Tickets must be purchased before May 15.
