THE Tony Cruz stable has assembled some talented young gallopers this season and Silver Power (99-1) joined those ranks with a smart effort behind Win For Lily in the second of yesterday's griffin contests.

The flashy grey son of Seattle Dancer was slowly into stride under Alex K.S. Yu as Gold Flask and Golden Decade set a hectic pace out in front, but he settled nicely and seems to have been well educated.

The good clip suited Silver Power and he came home full of running along the fence, making up considerable ground in the final furlong to finish fourth.

He looks to be open to considerable improvement and will be winning races next term.

In the opening griffin affair, the Ivan Allan-trained Air Force One (99-1) caught the eye as another to keep on side next season when he kept on really well all the way to the line for Danny Lee in the race won by Triumphant Feeling.

He was beaten a long way, but the way he stuck to the task suggests there is something there for the future.
