David Chu pamphlet logo leaves no doubt pigs can fly
Provisional Legislator David Chu Yu-lin, who is running for one of the 10 seats on the Election Committee, is flying high.
The Hong Kong Progressive Alliance contender has included his logo fei chu (flying pig) in his election pamphlet.
The word 'pig' is a homophone of 'chu' in Cantonese.
The logo features a pink pig with white wings travelling across a blue sky.
And underneath the flying pig a small aeroplane is depicted.
As an active sportsman, Mr Chu's favourite pursuits included parachuting and gliding.
Last year, he paraglided from Hong Kong to the Great Wall of China to celebrate the first National Day after the handover.
A common mistake by many people, politicians included, is to criticise others without realising one has committed the same mistake.
Louis Leung Wing-on, a non-affiliated Hong Kong Island candidate, hit out at his rival, Citizens Party chairwoman Christine Loh Kung-wai, accusing her of not including her achievements in election pamphlets.
As a result, he could only conclude that Ms Loh had made no contributions.
However, a quick perusal of Mr Leung's own leaflet may leave the reader struggling to discover any detailed listings of his own endeavours.
