Punters can hope for Score to settle

Alan Munro is severing ties with trainer Wong Siu-tan next season and he went within inches of landing a farewell bolter when first-starter Score (54-1) just failed to live up to his name in a Class Four mile contest on the Sha Tin dirt last night.

Score looked to have the race in his keeping after making significant ground along the rails in the straight only to be grabbed on the line by last-start winner Bill.

Munro was forced to chase the game after the Last Tycoon gelding was slowly into stride from the barrier.

The four-year-old was allowed to settle rearward before Munro asked him the question leaving the back.

The response was impressive as Score negotiated a clear passage and put in the big strides.

His trial form on the grass had been poor so it might pay to watch his first start on the turf. But it is good to know that he does appreciate the artificial surface.
