Everyone's a winner in David Lan quiz show

David Lan Hong-tsung would be upset to learn the multi-million-dollar publicity drive had failed to enlighten some elderly voters.

While he hosted a quiz show on the polls in Wong Tai Sin, two women offstage were locked in an argument over whether the district belonged to Kowloon East or Kowloon West.

But the Secretary for Home Affairs had some reason to be smug since the quiz winners, some of whom were apparently 'government-appointed', could answer the questions correctly.

Kowloon West Liberal hopeful Li King-wah earned himself the nickname, the 'housewives' favourite', for his golden oldies during a karaoke session in the drizzle.

But the Liberal's tune was not appreciated by one old patriot, who drowned him out with communist songs.

As the candidates and old folks were enjoying the music, a secondary school student had some serious questions to ask about the polls.

A journalist, who normally raises such questions, found himself the target of a Form Two student from Carmel Secondary School.
