The first phase of a project to build a subway system in Shenzhen has been approved. The Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported yesterday that two rail lines would be laid at a cost of 6.74 billion yuan (about HK$6.27 billion) in the first phase. The two lines would have 14 stations and 14.8 kilometres of track, the paper reported.
