24-hour channel is feasible

I wrote to RTHK, asking for a 24-hour Putonghua channel.

Currently it only broadcasts for 16 hours a day.

I still believe it would be feasible to have a 24-hour station.

As the daytime programmes are rather good they could be repeated at night and early in the morning.

This would be welcomed, in particular, by those who because of their working hours have to sleep during the day.

Also, the current Putonghua channel at AM 621 is in mono. The repeat programmes could be played on an FM channel, while that channel is normally closed down overnight, thus enabling listeners to enjoy the stereo effect.

Some Cable TV channels broadcast for 24 hours, so I am sure that RTHK could do the same with its Putonghua channel.

It would involve a negligible addition of manpower and other resources.
