More than 60 representatives of regulatory bodies, exchanges and financial institutions in Asia yesterday attended a Global Year 2000 Workshop in Hong Kong. Workshop participants proposed a status checklist for financial institutions to assess how ready firms were for the Year 2000 computer problem and actions for those which were not fully compliant by the end of this year needed to take. A framework to determine the requirements for infrastructure testing in different markets was proposed.
