Iran and Jordan have signed a shipping agreement and resumed direct commercial flights for the first time in 20 years, Iranian state television says.

The shipping agreement, signed by visiting Jordanian Transport Minister Sami Gammo and his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Hojjati, allows Iranian and Jordanian ships access to ports in both countries. It also calls for co-operation in shipbuilding and information exchange.
