A gunbattle broke out after a robbery at a pawnshop near the Jai-Alai Stadium, Macau, early this morning. Three armed men threatened staff and ransacked the shop. As they were fleeing with watches and gold ornaments two police officers challenged them. Shots were exchanged and one of the robbers was hit in the leg. The three escaped in a taxi but police later detained a man who sought hospital treatment for a gunshot wound. His condition was not immediately known. Police were hunting for the other two men.
