Man Yue International Holdings has entered into two joint ventures to research and produce electrolytic capacitors and electronic components in the mainland by the end of the year.
It holds a 49 per cent interest in Gui Zhou Xin Yu Electronics, which has a registered share capital of $21.8 million.
The venture, set up in collaboration with a subsidiary of China Zhen Hua (Group) Technology, will research, design and produce electrolytic capacitors.
The group has a 25 per cent stake in another joint venture, Chongqing Changshou Mechanical and Electronic, to distribute and manufacture electronic products.
In an agreement signed last month, it became sole agent for Japanese foil manufacturer JCC to distribute its brand of products in the mainland and in Hong Kong.
Turnover in the year to December was up 9 per cent from 1996 to $459.72 million.
