Britain's biggest-selling daily paper, the Sun, has provided readers with a prayer mat to pray for an England victory over Colombia.

The prayer mat comprises a photographed patch of hallowed green Wembley turf divided by the cross of St George, England's patron saint, with circles showing where readers should kneel and where they should place a bottle of beer.

It tells readers to face the mat towards the television, and if England look to be in trouble to 'get down on your knees, place beer in area provided and PRAY'.

The paper's circulation is more than three million.
