The Hong Kong Shippers' Council has informed members that the Asia North America Eastbound Rate Agreement (Anera) has agreed to impose a $400 licence administration fee from Wednesday in cases where incorrect information has been submitted by shippers.

Examples would include textile-quota items being incorrectly described as non-quota items, or textiles being described as non-textiles, or the shipment being received by carriers after the licence has expired.

The council said Anera had agreed that the fee should not apply to post-shipment change of licence particulars resulting from short shipment, or change of shipping marks or number of cartons shipped.
