Angered by snub to past helmsmen

The recent decision not to invite the last two Hong Kong Governors to the opening of the new airport is petty, shortsighted and demeaning.

Chris Patten and Lord Wilson although not of Hong Kong were consistently seen to be working in the interests and for the good of Hong Kong.

It is a pity that our current helmsman lacks the conviction and courage to give credit to those who put Hong Kong's interests first.

Last month's election clearly indicates who the people of Hong Kong support; they support those who stick up for Hong Kong and who support Hong Kong values. It was a clear vote against even any 'suggestion' of adopting Beijing values.

Anson Chan's recent 'spiritual journey' does her no credit at all, she surprisingly made no reference to her Hong Kong characteristics.

I applaud her for flying the flag, but such a shame that it is the wrong one. As we approach our first anniversary it is time our leaders were seen to be more in tune with those around them.
