Anera agrees on licence fee

The Hong Kong Shippers' Council has clarified that it had objected strongly to the Asia North America Eastbound Rate Agreement's (Anera) imposition of a $400 licence administration fee from today.

However, after much discussion, Anera had agreed to impose the fee only in cases where incorrect information actually had been submitted by shippers.

Council director Clement Yeung said Anera had agreed that the fee should not cover post-shipment change of licence particulars resulting from short shipment, or change of shipping marks or number of cartons shipped.
