Competition among fast food shops is intensifying with a co-founder of Cafe de Coral and Fairwood launching the first in a proposed new food chain.

Alfred Lo Hoi-fook, who helped found Cafe de Coral in 1963 and Fairwood in 1972, yesterday opened Fruito Ricci in Whampoa Garden, Hunghom.

Mr Lo has poached two long-serving Fairwood executives to join his venture.
