NEC given trunk-network order

NEC Corp said it had received a 1.5 billion yen (about HK$82.37 million) order for its synchronous digital hierarchy microwave transmission system from China Telecom via Marubeni Corp. NEC said the transmission system involved 520 kilometres of first-class trunk network extending from Nanning to Guiyang, with capacity equal to 30,000 telephone lines.
