US troupe adds new dimension to mime

Magical illusion, dazzling improvisation, and stunning creativity. These are the hallmarks of a mime troupe who are delighting audiences in Hong Kong.

The Seattle Mime Theatre from the United States will present its final AnimOtion concert today.

The 90-minute performance by the three-member ensemble defies the traditional concept of the mime artist with the white face and jerky movements.

In AnimOtion, performers wear neutral make-up and use music and speech.

AnimOtion will make its curtain call tonight at the Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre, starting at 7.30 pm.

Tickets are priced at $80, $120 and $160, with half-price discounts for senior citizens, the disabled and full-time students.

There are also discounts of up to 30 per cent for full- price ticket holders.
