Acting with indecent haste
Many Primary Six students and their parents cried when they learned that they could not attend schools where the medium of instruction is English. They desperately wanted to study at such schools.
The government policy of substantially increasing the number of Chinese medium of instruction schools, was implemented too quickly. It takes time for people to adapt to such a major change and they have not been given that time.
The old policy where some classes were taught in Chinese and some in English, worked well for the students and should have been continued.
