Writ filed over crushed finger

An electrician who had a finger amputated after crushing it while working on the new airport site has launched a damages action against his employers.

Augusto Quinan Evangelista, 56, suffered the injury while lifting electric panels on to a truck inside the terminal building on January 26 last year.

His right index finger was crushed between one of the panels and the truck, according to a writ lodged in the High Court.

He is seeking damages from Rotary (International) Ltd.
