The first four events confirmed for the Tamar site were announced by the tourist association yesterday. They are:   August 23: a pop concert from 8pm-11pm with 2,000 tickets available locally and 10,000 through overseas promotions.

 October 1 to November 29: Tamar Jumbo Mart open-air market to be held from noon to 10pm every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holiday.

 December 18 to January 11: International Industrial Products Exhibition.

 February 16: Chinese New Year Parade and Fiesta.

 The association is managing the two-hectare site until June 2000 and is evaluating other suggestions.
