The Sino-British Joint Liaison Group is to hold its third post-handover meeting next week.

It is understood that the two sides will continue to discuss the resettlement of Vietnamese boat people stranded in Hong Kong and how to encourage other countries to give visa-free access to SAR passport holders.

But it is unlikely that they will touch on the results of last May's Legco elections.

The British team will be led by the British Senior Representative, Alan Paul.

The Chinese team will be led by the Chinese Ambassador in London, Wang Guisheng, and will include Michael Suen Ming-yeung, Secretary for Constitutional Affairs.

The last meeting, in March, lasted only 1.5 days instead of the scheduled three.
