DFDS and Danzas in European alliance

Logistics group Danzas and Danish DFDS have established a strategic alliance to build a leading European transport network.

The partnership, which includes the Danzas Eurocargo business unit and the DFDS transport division, will co-operate in groupage and consolidation business from October 1.

Danzas chief executive Peter Wagner and DFDS president and chief executive Thorleif Blok signed an agreement recently to establish the alliance.

The alliance aims to enhance service levels for customers and give both partners substantially broader networks.

It is not expected to have any impact on the Danzas Group's consumer solutions and industry solutions, nor on its intercontinental business unit.

Both partners are also evaluating financial links in order to strengthen their partnership.

DFDS will take over the existing groupage and consolidation business of Danzas Eurocargo business units in Britain, Finland, Belgium and the Netherlands on October 1.

In Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Ireland and the Baltic states, DFDS will become Danzas' exclusive partner.
