London: EMI said problems in key markets would push operating profit in the six months to September 30 down 20 per cent year-on-year. Markets in Southeast Asia continued to weaken while Brazil, the most important music market in Latin America, had contracted a quarter in the first months of EMI's financial year. The comments were likely to be a further blow for EMI shares, which have fallen 25 per cent in the past six months.
