These views make waking up easier

THREE rooms with a view and don't forget the roof garden. This is the kind of house that makes getting up in the morning easy.

It must rank as the ideal start to the day. Get up, look out and admire the breathtaking Clearwater Bay coastline . . . from the garden, living room, two main bedrooms or the roof.

Then go for a swim in the outdoor pool and relax in the adjoining heated jacuzzi. Such bliss.

The only problem is deciding where to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. Tea, cornflakes and toast in the kitchen is against the rules. It's on the wrong side of the house and would be too cramped.

The beauty - and value - of this three-floor house can only be appreciated looking northeast towards the horizon.

It's perfect for getting away from the hassles and stress that are part of Hongkong life. This is a place to relax and take it easy.

You can see for miles on a clear day, catching glimpses of small islands dotted about in the sea.

At $8.5 million this place it is not exactly a steal, but it would suit a large family with money to spend.

Owner Mrs Linda Bray said: ''The view is quite wonderful.

''It's also not too often you find a six-bedroom house in this area. It would be ideal for a family who need to use those rooms. It is a very private place to live.'' Palm Cove Villa is perched on a hillside overlooking Clearwater Bay. It is situated in the quiet and secluded Wing Lung Road and has ample parking space.

There is a parking spot at the side of the kerb out front and a one-car garage at the side.

The entry hall has two small rooms off it. One is a laundry area and the other is the maid's quarters.

The hall leads on to a spacious and beautifully decorated living room. Behind the modern full-sliding windows is a compact garden complete with a 10-metre swimming pool. A small heated jacuzzi is attached.

There may be other houses nearby but the natural hedged wall ensures seclusion and privacy.

White plastic chairs and a table blend in perfectly with the atmosphere of the garden. This is the place for the morning's cornflakes.

A rock waterfall spills into the fish pond at the top of the green.

For the green-fingered types there is plenty of scope to improve on the outdoor floral arrangements.

But don't worry if the idea of using a lawnmower spurs hideous nightmares - it would only take a few minutes to cut the grass in this garden.

The living room runs into the dining area where there is ample room for a family-sized table and cabinet.

The whole area is brilliantly lit by a series of spotlights on the ceiling.

At the back, the kitchen is tucked away in the corner.

Admittedly, it is smaller than parents with a bigger than average nuclear family would want but it is big enough to do the job.

Any eating is better done in the adjoining dining area or the garden.

On the second floor, a main bedroom is another place to relish the fantastic view. The en suite bathroom is complete with toilet, bath and shower.

Two smaller bedrooms occupy the level. On the third floor, the the same story applies. There's one major bedroom but the Bray family have converted the other view-facing room into a studio.

It is currently complete with a personal computer and an exercise bicycle.

Up top, through an impressive iron gate, the roof would be ideal for summer barbecues.

It is sealed off by a small concrete wall and is the perfect place to watch the sun go down.

The villa - which occupies an area of 2,100 square feet, not including the roof - was built in 1979. Air-conditioning is provided throughout.

The garden takes up a generous 1,800 sq ft and the roof covers the same 700 sq ft as the three floors below.
